Youth Ministry News: This Week.

WORKCAMP BOOTCAMP: Our Mission Trip Prep Series!
True story: Mission trips are no picnic.  Serving others is not always easy.  So before we leave for Minneapolis next month, we’re meeting as a team to get the most out of our experience.  Your child is invited to join us for Workcamp Bootcamp!

Bootcamp begins Wednesday, June 22nd, 6-7:15p. Our parent meeting will be held at the same time that night.  We’ll meet each Wednesday leading up to the trip.   See you there!

-WorkCamp: One of the participating churches has offered us the chance to buy a couple of their spots! We have 38 students going, and would love to get that up to 40.  This is a great time for your child to jump in if they haven’t yet.  Let me know if interested!
-Great Escape: Several of our parents asked for a daily schedule of camp; it’s attached.
-Great Escape: The theme this year is SUMMIT.  Students are encouraged to bring costumes, gear, or small props that are adventure-themed: Hikers, Travelers, Explorers, Indiana Jones types!
-Great Escape: Child bringing drinks/snacks with to camp?  Please do not include any soda.  Students may bring water, vitamin water, or sports drinks; soda is not allowed.  Students may buy soda at camp during lunch or dinner.
-WorkCamp T-Shirts: Shirts are $17; please pay at Bootcamp this week.

Youthworks Missions Dinner: Join us!
Wednesday August 3rd, 6:00p: Hear firsthand how God worked through our students at the Youthworks Missions Dinner!  Our students will be your Table Leaders, sharing all about their trip experience through songs, testimonies, and pictures.  And our Deacons will be preparing burgers and chicken on the grill!  The Missions Dinner is for everyone who supported our students: Church members, family, friends, and more.
Space is limited, so message back with the number of guests attending and what meal you’d prefer (grilled chicken, burger).

Sponsorship Opportunity - Compassion International
For many years, our Junior High students have supported Shewanda Sanon, a student from Haiti, through the Compassion sponsorship program.  With my departure in August, it is fitting for us to transfer that sponsorship to one of our Kish families until a new Youth Director is in place.  Would you be interested?
Our own students have chipped in $28/month, which has assisted Shewanda with her education, food & shelter, and much more.  We have seen her through 7th grade, and it would be nice for Kish to keep taking of her as she grows up!  Message back for more information.
