RESTART Concert @ First Free: Ticket Orders ASAP! 
 
Parents: I am buying tickets for the October 4th ReSTART show featuring For King & Country and Andy Mineo. 
Tickets are $10 this year, and we’ll only get one shot to buy them before they’re all gone.  Only a couple hundred left…and others are buying. 
Interested?  Show is 6-10p that Sunday.  Message back…and I’ll save you a ticket! 
 
High School Small Group: Updates
Week 1 of small group was not small at all: 24 students attended!  Week 2 begins at 7a tomorrow, room 123, @ SVHS. 
Child not attend last week?  No problem.  We’ll catch them right up tomorrow. 
Child attend last week: Awesome! We hope they can come as often as able. 
Please note: If we continue with 18-24 students, we may consider leading a separate group altogether.  We want to keep groups small for discussion purposes, while still inviting all who are interested.  I’ll keep you posted.

Parents: I am still working on finding teachers for our 6th/7th and 9th-12th Sunday School classes.  This means that there will be no class next Sunday, September 6th.  I will keep you posted once we find a teacher!

Jr. High Food Booth Fundraiser  
Junior High students can take part in their first camp fundraiser of the year: Saturday, September 26th. 
Parents, Students: Sign up for a shift.  You can message back and have you and/or your child sign up for one of the following shifts: 
Setup: 6-8a 
8a-10:15a
10a-11:45a
11:30a-1:15p
1:00p-3:00p 
3:00p-5:00p

Parents: Provide a beverage.  Our water and soda is donated by our Junior High parents.  Please check the assignment sheet below (goes by first letter of last name); drinks to be dropped off no later than September 20th.

A-E should donate Diet Coke (12 oz., 12-pack)
F-K should donate Coke (12 oz, 12-pack) 
L-P should donate Water (12 oz., 12-pack)
R-Z should donate Sprite (half-liter, 24-pack) 

See You @ The Pole: A 6th-12th Prayer Event. 
9.20: Pre-Pole Rally, at Valley Covenant, 5:30-7:30 pm.  Students gather with other 6th-12th grade students to plan for Wednesday’s See You at The Pole Event.  The band My Great Elephant will lead us in worship, and we’re expecting 120 students from area churches to join us.  SYATP is a student-led event, so all students are needed to pray and plan! 
9.23: See You at the Pole. 7:15a SV Schools, 7:45a Byron Schools, at each school’s main flagpole.

High School Small Group: Starts Today!
For SVHS Students!  Brennan Showers and I are leading a small group at school, in Mr. Mullikin’s classroom, this Fall.  Our aim: To read scripture during the week, meet together each week, and share what we learned.  Details: 
1: 7:30-8a Today.
2: Reading plan begins Wednesday, August 26th. 
3: Group will meet most Tuesdays, 7-7:45a.

2016 Camp Registration: Open Sunday!
Registration begins next week for the following 2016 camp ministries: 
Jr. High Deep Freeze: 15-17 January.
Jr. High Great Escape: 11-16 July. 
High School WorkCamp: 24-29 July.

Confirmation: Starts Sunday!  
Our 8th Grade Confirmation class begins Sunday!  Please note:
-8th Graders: Class meets in Room 2, Sundays at 10:30a.

-Parents & 8th graders: Join us for a Confirmation meeting today, 10:30a, in the Fellowship Hall.  We’ll provide an overview of the class objectives, as well as discuss individual assignments and expectations.  
Parents, you may turn in your child’s registration forms at this time.  Note: The meeting will share the 
same time/space as the Explorers Adult class.  Confirmation will take up the first 20 minutes, and we’ll 
dismiss the students to class from there.   

-Haven’t registered yet?  Download the Confirmation packet, and message back that your child will be attending Sunday.

Explorers: A New Adult Discipleship Series!

This Fall, join us each Sunday at 10:30 for our new series Explorers: Discovering the Christian Faith.  It’s a great ‘Faith Essentials’ series to help understand the story of God even better. 

All are invited: Adults, College Students, High Schoolers.
Parents of Confirmation students: Grow with your child!  Confirmation pairs well with this series, and we’ll be doing complimentary sessions together.
Want to know more? Catch a glimpse of where we’re going with the series on Sunday, August 23rd, 10:30-11:15a.

As our junior high students approach 8th grade, we seek to develop spiritual maturity, a desire for ministry, and an opportunity for church membership.  Confirmation is designed to guide students into each of these aims.

WorkCamp: Final Reminders.

Hello Parents,  

Workcamp is almost here!  Updates and reminders before we leave Sunday: 

1: If you have not turned in your child's forms: Please do so Sunday, 8a. Not sure what forms to complete?  Call me ASAP.

2: Need the Packing List or other documents? Visit the WorkCamp page of kishwaukeeyouth.com. Please pack according the Packing List: Nothing more, nothing less.  If in doubt as to what you should bring, call me. Space is limited; thanks for complying!

3: Students are to arrive Sunday 8a, @ Church. After loading up his/her bag, your family is welcome to join us for breakfast from 8-8:30!  We’ll circle up and pray afterwards.

4: Students will have to pay for two meals, plus $8.50 cash in activity expenses (concert, museum) once there. 

5: Additional information from my phone call with the WorkCamp Site Director is attached.  Please read; it includes additional information about work projects, housing, etc.

Our last BootCamp before we leave!  6-7:15p.  We have a lot to cover before we leave on Sunday; please encourage your child to join us.

WorkCamp Missions Dinner: You're Invited!

Hello Parents,  

Every mission trip is a congregational effort from start to finish.  Our Missions Dinner is both our way of saying ‘thanks’ to our Church family for their support and our chance to share stories from the trip. Join us! 

*Wednesday, August 5th, 6-7:30p 
*Deacons are grilling burgers and chicken; dinner is free of charge.

If you know you and/or your child can attend, simply message back with the name and main course choice (burger or chicken).  In order to accurately share the breadth and depth of the trip, we ask that all students attend.  If you know your child cannot attend, please let me know.

Youth Ministry News: This Week.

GREAT ESCAPE: Important Items  
1. Finish packing: Download the packing list at kishwaukeeyouth.com.   
2. Pack smart, pack light.  We are extremely full this year.  Everything must fit in a standard duffel/suitcase.  No soda, fishing rods, sleeping bags, etc.   
3. Bus seating, FYI.  Most of our group will be sitting 3 to a seat.
4. Saturday: Potential driver needed.  We may need a parent to come up on Saturday and haul additional luggage for us.  Let me know if you can assist.
5. Arrive at church: Monday, 7.13, 12:30p. We’ll be leaving by 1p.

WORKCAMP BOOTCAMP: Week 3
Week 3 of Boot Camp is called This Place Matters. Catch a glimpse of how brothers and sisters in Christ are making Cincinnati a better place, and learn how you can do your part as well.  Join us: Wednesday, 6p.

SUMMER CAMP MINISTRY: Important Items 
 -Great Escape: Child bringing drinks/snacks with to camp?  Please do not include any soda.   
Students may bring water; soda is not allowed this year.  Students may buy soda at camp during lunch or dinner.
-WorkCamp T-Shirts: Shirts are $16; please pay if you haven’t yet.

WORKCAMP BOOTCAMP: Week 2
Week 2 of Boot Camp is all about teamwork: Serving together as one body during the trip.  This Wednesday, 6p, snacks provided.  All workcamp students encouraged to attend.
